Restò sul set per sole due ore e successivamente quando vide i risultati del test non fu soddisfatta e chiese che il direttore della fotografia - Ian Baker fosse sostituito. Ian Baker ottenne la sua paga di 120.000, venne sostituito e da quel momento il budget cominciò a lievitare.
Kim era in ritardo per le prove per le canzoni, nonostante avesse sempre voluto imporsi come cantante. Era anche molto preoccupata di provare difronte a tutti la prima performance del film. Così chiese al regista Jerry Rees e al nuovo Direttore della fotografia, Donald Thorin, di incontrarsi presto, da soli per provare. Loro acconsentirono presentandosi alle 7:00, ma Kim arrivò con 5 ore di ritardo
Più la storia d'amore tra Basinger e Badlwin cresceva più loro si opponevano al regista Jerry Ress e ai boss della Disney. Kim lasciava la produzione, spesso per un motivo o l'altro compresa la sua lunga ed elaborata toletta mattutina che prevedeva acqua Evian per lavarsi i capelli.
Il quarto giorno, Kim adn Alec erano seduti in una macchina tra una ripresa e l'altra, in attesa di girare la scena successiva . I tecnici del suono non potevano credere a quello che stavano ascoltando . Kim stava dicendo Alec in modo dettagliato cosa pensava di fare al suo corpo quando la sera avrebbero fatto l'amore.
Atro problema fu la biancheria intima della Basinger. Alcuni hanno detto che non volesse indossarla sotto gli abiti di scena e che una volta si sedette sulla sedia del regista a gambe divaricate. Un membro delle troupe ha detto "Una volta mi sono voltato e.... wow!!!. Le mi vide e mi chiese come stessi". "Oggi farò del mio meglio... grazie". I suoi assistenti erano sempre pronti a buttarle sulle gambe degli asciugamani.
Kim voleva cambiare la sceneggiatgura del film e litigò con Neil Simon dicendogli "Non è divertente. Comunque tu riscriva questa scena non si capisce che è una commedia"
Simon negò il litigio, ma si ritornò sul set solo un'altra volta durante le riprese.
C'erano diverse scene girate nel deserto e la sua ossessione per il sole divenne leggendaria. Ogni volta ch lasciava la roulotte insisteva per avere un ombrello che le facesse ombra. Fu assoldato il tirocinante Michael Ryan Baxter che ha ricordato: "Quando Kim usciva dalla roulotte io aprivo un ombrello e glielo porgevo. Lei lo portava con se e poi le lo consegnava quando saliva in auto o andava sul set ovunque lei andasse. La sua pelle era molto sensibile."
Alec era sempre furioso sul set. Il suo acme di nervosismo era rivolto ai membri di produzione, che erano soliti visitare il set. Una volta Alec, come detto da ingegnere video: "sentii Alec dire, dopo aver rinunciato a un suo capriccio "Ve la farò pagare... ."
Alec Baldwin perse il controllo man mano. Il suo cellulare divenne la sua arma. Andava su tutte le furie quando non prendeva la linea. "Lo sbatteva contro il muro" disse un membro del cast. "Non so quanti cellulari abbia fatto a pezzi"
Un giorno, sempre a causa del cellulare, gettò la sedia del regista, mancando per poco un elettricista che si trovava da quelle parti".
"Andava su tutte le furie se qualcosa andava storto o non andava come lui voleva e purtroppo accadeva spesso"
Alec spesso buttava il suo cellular, forniti agli attori dalla produzione, contro il muoro o verso qualsiasi cosa fosse nei paraggi
I problemi per Alec erano i telefoni ... Alec Becco Heit- un membro della troup - che parlava al telefono sul set di una scena, Alec fece volare i bicchiere e i posaceneri e urlò "Il telefono non funzionanella mia roulotte. Tu hai un telefono, perché non ho un telefono ? Io voglio un telefono "
Alec strappò il telefono di Heit e drammaticamente lo gettò a terra.
Un pomeriggio si rifiutarono di girare una scena per poi riprendrla la mattina dopo perché non volevano fermarsi per poi riprenderla il giorno dopo.
La trouppe fu bannata dalle prove e di volta in volta questo ha portato a ripetere le scene molto volte perché spesso o erano fuori fuoco o perché c'erano molti altri problemi.
Kim pretese che il trucco e i capelli fossero sistemati ad ogni ripresa e non a fine scena. Ogni ritocco necessitava di 30 minuti
Kim e Alec si adirarono perché la Disney si rifiutò di sostituire il catering con piatti riutilizzabili che il cast e la troupe avevano inavvertitamente gettato via . Di conseguenza, i due, sostituirono ipiatti di plastica con quelli di polistirolo che erano biodegradabili.
Kim chiese di consultare un sensitivo in Brasile. Circa quattro settimane dall'inizio filiming, fu detto che Kim avrebbe improvvisamente informato il regista ei produttori che doveva andare in Sud America per consultare un sensitivo .

Kim Basinger for her first make up test was five hours late, and because she had refuse to give her home telephone number to the produciton staff, the crew had to call her agent to reach her. When she did finally arrive, she tride on one outfit. Did a single test. She was only on the set for about 2 hours. Whem she saw the result of the test Kim demanded that director of photography photography Ian Baker be replaced, because she didn't like the way she looked in test shots.
The cinematographer got his ful 120.000$ and the budget started to escalate from that moment on.
Kim was late for song rehearsals even though she desperatley wanted to establish herself as a singer. She was extremley worried about rehearsing her first big on-screen number, Let's Do It. in front of the cast, so she asked Jerry Rees and replacement of the director of photography, Donald Thorin, to come to the set early so they could go through it together in private. They agreed and arrived promptly at 7.00 am. Kim turned up five hours later.
As the Basinger-Baldwin love affair grew more intense, both stars frustrated director Jerry Rees
and feuded with Disney brass. Basinger often kept the production waiting for one reason or another, including her elaborate morning toilette that featured an Evian water shampoo.
On the fourth day, Kim adn Alec were sitting in a car between takes, waiting for the next scene. Crew members listening in on headphone intercom system couldn't believe what they were hearing. Kim was telling Alec in the most graphic details what she planned to do his body when they where making love that night.
Another problem was Basinger's underwear. Or lack of it. Some of those on the set said that she didn't wear any under her costume and would sit in her director's chair with her legs apart. "I turned around once, and it was just like, 'Wooooo!' " says a crew member. "She saw me look and then said. 'How are you?' I said, 'I'm doing a lot better today, thanks.' Her embarrassed assistants were always scampering for towels to throw over her legs
Kim wanted to change the dialogue and argued with the writer. She said: "It's no funny. Whoever wrote this scene doesn't understand comedy." Simon, who denies that the incident took place, returned to the set only once during the remainder of the shoot.
There was several scenes shot in the desert and her obsession with staying out the sun become legendary. Every time she left the triler she insisted on having an umbrella to keep her in sahde. Directors Guild trainee Michael Ryan Baxter recalled: "When Kim came out of the trailer, I opened an umbrella and handed it to her. She'd carry it and then hand it back to me as she got in the car or on the set or wherever she went. Her skin was really sensitive."
Baldwin's temper also set the company on edge. One focus of his anger was on studio execs who visited the set. "One time," says a video engineer, "I heard Alec marching back after a tantrum and saying, 'I really showed them this time.' "
Baldwin, who started out under control, later grew hostile. His cellular telephones on location became favorite weapons. "He didn't like it when his phones cut out. so he would slam them against the wall," says a member of the technical crew. "I don't know how many phones he smashed to smithereens." When one phone failed, he was so enraged that he threw a director's chair, which narrowly missed an electrician who happened to be in the way. He later apologized. "Alec would be pissed at whatever wasn't going right," says one crewman, "and there was always something that wasn't going right."
Alec frequently threw his own cellular telephone, which were supplied by the studio, to the stars as perks at the walls and anything else which to be there
The problems for Alec were the phones... Alec caught Heit - a crew members - talking on the telephon on set of a bar room scene, Alec sent the glasses and the ashtrays flying. He yelled "The phone are not working in my trailer. You gotta a phone, Why I don't have a phone? Godammint, I want a phone"
Alec snatched Heit's telephone and dramatically threw it to the floor before storming off.
One afternoon they refused to start a filming a scene because they didn't want to stop and then retourn to it in the morning.
The crew members were banned from rehearsals and Kim started rushing her scenes. Time and again, this led to scenes having to be reshot because they were out of focus or there was some other problems.
Kim insisted that her hair and make up be touched up after pratically every take instead of when a scene was wrapped. The additionall beauty work took as much as 30 minutes a time
Kim and Alec became irate because disney refuse to refund the caterers for reusable plates that the cast and crew had inadvertently thrown away. As a result, the characters had swapped the hard plastics plates they had been supplying for cheaper styrofoam ones that were non biodegradable
Kim demanded to visit a psychic in Brazil. About four weeks into filiming Kim was said to have suddenly informed the director and producers that she had to go to South America to consult him.
Dinsey executives had their own prediction; if she went to Brazil, she would have to pay 85.000$ a day to cover lost production costs while she was out of town. Kim didn't go to the psychic.
Years later Kim said that the story was false, a smear campaign launched by vindictive Dinsey executives

Kim is at her best. The movie is amazing and funny. Kim and Alec are beautiful as couple. It's a really good time movie. Kim as singer is sensational. the soundtrack is wonderful
